THE BOYZ’s third full-length album Unexpected embodies a narrative of possibility and transformation. Centering the artists’ authenticity, we used the visual concept “Fluid State” to reflect flexibility, flux, and freedom from fixed imagery across the entire graphic identity.
The album title, rendered with supple strokes, symbolizes THE BOYZ’s free and unrestrained attitude, while the naturally permeating letterforms express cohesion among the members. The use of transparent typography signifies an emptied state, and at the same time, the capacity to contain any form.
The album unfolds in three versions—Begin, Become, and Breakthrough—and explores THE BOYZ’s potential for expansion through questions that span the past, present, and future.
더보이즈의 정규 3집 ‘Unexpected’는 ‘Fluid State’라는 비주얼 콘셉트를 바탕으로, 비워낸 상태에서 비롯되는 가능성과 변화의 서사를 담고 있다. 아티스트 본연의 모습을 중심에 두고, 고정된 이미지 없이 유연하게 변화할 수 있는 상태를 그래픽 아이덴티티 전반에 반영했다.
유연한 획으로 구성된 앨범 타이틀은 자유롭고 거침없는 더보이즈의 태도를 상징하며, 글자들이 서로 자연스럽게 스며드는 조형은 멤버 간의 결속을 은유한다. 투명한 타이포그래피 표현은 비워낸 상태이자 동시에 어떤 형태든 담아낼 수 있는 가능성을 표현한다.
앨범은 Begin, Become, Breakthrough 세 가지 버전으로 전개되며, 과거–현재–미래를 관통하는 질문을 통해 더보이즈의 확장 가능성을 탐색한다.
