LEE CHOUN HWAN — Rooted island
In Lee Chun-hwan’s exhibition, Rooted Island, abstract canvases are completed through the repetitive layering of paint. We utilized the artist’s methodology to make the book exist as an extension and visual interpretation of the works.
The book has overlapping content on each page, which reflects the artist’s repetitive paint build-up.
이춘환 작가의 전시 <뿌리내린 섬>에서 선보인 작품들은 물감을 쌓는 반복적인 행위를 통해 다양한 색상이 포개진 추상적인 화면을 완성한다. 이러한 작가의 작품 제작 방식을 책을 만드는 행위로 번역하여 작품의 확장이자 작업 자체를 시각화한 도록을 제작하였다.
물감을 쌓는 행위의 반복을 콘텐츠의 위치값이 중복되어 쌓이는 것으로 번역하여 내용의 진행과 흐름에 따라 콘텐츠가 단계적으로 겹치는 구조를 띄는 책을 완성하였다.
